BORNRIF 40 Visserman

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Bornrif 40 'Visserman' is still in a concept phase but has the potential for a great family yacht. The concept is based on traditional fishing sailing vessels with a large 'working' cockpit and relatively small and low cabin just for the basic necessities. Focus for the use of a yacht like this is clearly not bluewater cruising but rather using it as a 'mothership' in more sheltered areas like lakes or coastal waters. Clearly there are a lot of options and variations of the design possible, keeping it traditional, classic, or more modern. The multi-chined steel or alumium hull is built up with 4 overlapping strakes. This yacht is standardly outfitted with a centerboard, but optionally also can be outfitted with with bilge keels or a fixed keel.

With its large cockpit this boat is perfectly fit as a family boat for indoor and outdoor living on the water.

The Bornrif 40vm is proposed here to be outfitted with a classical cutter gaff rig.
